Your birth details

⭐ Your rising sign changes every ~2 hours, so your exact birth time and place are required.

What is a rising sign (ascendant)?

Your rising sign is the zodiac sign that was climbing over the eastern horizon at your birth. It’s your outward self — first impression, style, and the instinctive way you meet the world. Because it changes every ~2 hours, it’s the most time-sensitive part of your chart, and the reason your exact birth time matters so much.

Your Big Three

Your rising sign completes your Big Three alongside your Sun and Moon. Sun = who you are, Moon = how you feel, Rising = how you appear. For the full map — every planet, house and aspect — get your complete birth chart.

Rising Sign FAQ

What is a rising sign?

Your rising sign — also called your ascendant — is the zodiac sign that was rising on the eastern horizon at the exact moment you were born. It represents your outward self: your first impression, your appearance and vibe, and the instinctive way you approach the world. It’s the “mask” people meet before they know the real you.

Why do I need my exact birth time?

The rising sign changes roughly every two hours as the Earth rotates, so even an hour’s difference can change it. That’s why an accurate birth time — and birth place — are required to calculate it correctly.

What if I don’t know my birth time?

Unfortunately the rising sign can’t be calculated without a birth time, because it shifts so quickly. You can still find your sun and moon signs, and check your birth certificate or ask family for your birth time.

What’s the difference between rising sign and sun sign?

Your sun sign is your core identity; your rising sign is how you come across to others — your social personality and first impression. With your moon sign, they make up your astrological “Big Three.”
